CiteFlow bills monthly in pounds sterling with a 14-day free trial and self-service cancellation from your dashboard.

Billing and tiers

CiteFlow is sold as a monthly subscription with three paid tiers plus a 14-day trial. This page covers what each tier includes, how the trial works, and how cancellation, refunds, and invoices are handled.

[!INFO] Payment processing via Stripe is currently being integrated. Sections below tagged with this notice will be updated once the integration is live. Until then, paid tiers are provisioned manually by the CiteFlow team, email support@citeflow.co.uk to upgrade from trial.

How does the trial work?

  • Length, 14 days from signup.
  • No payment details required to start.
  • Trial limits per module:
    • 1 site, 1 publishing endpoint.
    • 5 tracked keywords.
    • 10 AI citation queries.
    • 2 article generations total.
    • 1 audit at signup, 1 re-audit ~24 hours before trial expiry.
  • At trial end, your account is preserved but the subscription enters a paused state. Scheduling auto-pauses (see scheduling) and content generation stops. You can convert to a paid tier at any time to resume.

Upgrading from trial — what you pay today

If you upgrade to a paid plan from inside your dashboard while the 14-day trial is still running, we apply a one-shot 50% off your first month discount automatically at checkout. The discount stacks with the annual "2 months free" rate and the paid plan starts immediately — there is no second trial period.

The 14-day deferred-payment behaviour (card saved, £0 due today) is only used for the initial sign-up flow. Anyone who has already started a trial and then chooses a paid plan from the Billing tab is charged immediately at the discounted rate.

How is pricing structured?

  • All prices are in GBP.
  • VAT is not currently charged. CiteFlow is not VAT-registered at the time of writing; this will change once we cross the registration threshold and invoices will be updated accordingly.
  • Prices shown exclude any payment-processor surcharges (there shouldn't be any, but the small print exists for a reason).

How is payment processed?

[!INFO] This section will be expanded once the Stripe integration is live.

When payments go live:

  • Card details are stored securely with Stripe. CiteFlow never sees or stores your card number.
  • Supported payment methods: card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), with additional methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, direct debit) added as the integration matures.
  • Invoices are emailed on each successful charge.

How does the billing cycle work?

  • Monthly recurring, charged on the calendar day matching your conversion date.
  • A failed charge triggers a retry sequence over 5 days. If all retries fail, the subscription enters a past_due state and scheduling auto-pauses. You can update your card and reactivate from /dashboard/billing.

How do you cancel?

  • Cancel anytime from /dashboard/billing.
  • Access continues to the end of the current billing period, you don't lose features mid-month.
  • No refund is issued for unused days of the current period (see Terms).
  • Re-subscribe at any time. Your data is retained.

What happens to billing on account deletion?

Account deletion is separate from subscription cancellation. Cancelling stops billing but preserves your data; deletion irreversibly removes it after a 30-day grace period. See account management for the deletion flow.

What is the refund policy?

  • No refunds for partial billing periods on monthly cancellation.
  • Refund requests for technical issues that materially prevented use are handled case-by-case at support@citeflow.co.uk.
  • See Terms for the authoritative refund policy.

How do you get tax invoices?

Once VAT registration applies, invoices will include the VAT number, breakdown, and currency. Until then, invoices are issued as VAT-not-applicable receipts. Existing invoices remain valid.

What currency are charges in?

All billing is in GBP. International customers are charged in GBP by their card issuer with the issuer's prevailing FX rate.
